The technical cooperation carried out by the INE is formalized through a series of activities that involve an exchange of experiences between professionals and experts in official statistics. Through the various activities, we aim to respond to the needs of the beneficiary countries in the areas of our excellence, designing specific actions in which development objectives are a priority.
In all training activities, the theoretical approach is combined with the necessary practical references, which allow participants to transfer, apply and multiply the acquired knowledge in their institutions of origin.
Currently, the INE basically carries out cooperation activities within the framework of two programs (although many other bilateral requests are also considered):
Training program and international technical cooperation in statistical matters of the INE with Latin America
The Latin American region has traditionally been a priority in terms of cooperation where the INE has maintained an active presence and has acquired international prestige. The INE annually launches an online training program aimed at Latin America that covers various subjects in the statistical field.
Pan-African Statistics Program (PAS II)
The INE, in consortium with other European statistical offices, has been selected to implement the “Pan-African Statistics Program II” (PAS II). This statistical cooperation program co-financed by the European Union, aims to support African integration by strengthening the African Statistical System.
During the period 2022-2025, the INE must implement a series of activities related to Demographic Statistics, Indicators of the 2030 Agenda, Health Statistics, Education Statistics, National Accounts and Business Registers.
