In February, Spain received 5.4 million international tourists, 7.7% more than in the same month in 2024.
In the first two months of 2025, the number of tourists visiting Spain increased by 6.9% and approached 10.5 million.
Annual variation. Percentage
The United Kingdom was the main country of residence in February, with one million tourists and an increase of 6.8% compared to same month in 2024. There were 719,366 tourists from France (15.9% more) and 616,766 from Germany (4.1% more).

The main countries of origin during the first two months were the United Kingdom (with almost 1.9 million tourists and an increase of 5.3%), France (almost 1.4 million and an increase of 14.1%) and Germany (with almost 1.2 million, 1.0% more).
The number of tourists who chose market accommodation as their main type of accommodation increased by 4.9% in annual terms. Within this type, hotel accommodation increased by 4.2% and rented accommodation by 2.7%, while non-market accommodation increased by 19.0%.
Four to seven nights was the main duration of stay among tourists, with almost 2.6 million and an annual increase of 5.6%. The number of visitors increased by 15.8% among non-overnight visitors (excursionists) and by 2.6% among tourists with a longer duration (more than 15 nights).
More than 4.2 million tourists travelled without a tourist package in February, an increase of 9.0%. Nearly 1.2 million tourists travelled with a tourist package, 3.0% more.
Canarias was the top tourist destination in February, with 26.8% of the total. It was followed by Cataluña (21.1%) and Andalucía (14.4%).
2.6% more tourists visited Canarias than in February 2024. The number of tourists visiting Cataluña increased by 7.8% and 6.9% more tourists came to Andalucía.
In the cumulative figure for the first two months of 2025, the Autonomous Communities that received the most tourists were Canarias (2.8 million: an increase of 2.8% as compared with the same period in 2024), Cataluña (2.2 million: an increase of 10.0%) and Andalucía (1.5 million: 5.4% more).

The main objective of the Tourist Movement on Borders Survey (FRONTUR) is to estimate the number of non-residents visiting Spain on a monthly basis, as well as to know the main characteristics of the trips made by these visitors. The international definitions and recommendations of the UNWTO and EUROSTAT in this field are followed when preparing the FRONTUR.
