Scope
Energy
Action line
Promote energy efficiency and lower energy consumption
Type of indicator (global, European, national)
National
Correlation with other sets of indicators
Description
Portion of the economy's production related to the energy efficiency measures adopted for the construction of Nearly-Zero Energy Buildings (NZEBs)
Calculation method

$$\textit{% Total energy efficiency output}^{t}=\frac{\textit{Total energy efficiency output in the construction on NZEBs}^{t}}{\textit{GDP}^{t}} \cdot 100$$

, where \(GDP^{t}\) is Gross Domestic Product, year t.

Observations

Nearly-Zero Energy Buildings are considered those having a very high energy efficiency. The amount of energy these buildings need must be met in large part by renewable energies, including that generated by the building itself (self-consumption) or those generated in the environment.
