Concept selected: Direct inputs of materials (users)
- Definition
-
They are defined as all the solid, liquid and gaseous materials (excluding water and air) that enter into the economy for subsequent use in the production or consumption processes. The two main categories are the raw materials extracted in the country and imports. The sum of these two categories constitutes one of the indicators derived from the accounts, the Direct Input of Materials (DIM). Deducting exports from this indicator yields the National Consumption of Materials (NCM).
